The past is never experienced in the present. It is an hallucination. Reality, as it is perceived, is never truly experienced for what it is. It is interpreted by our human senses. The reality perceived by humans is one of infinite realities perceived by all sorts of beings both physical and non-physical.
The past cannot inform the present. Neither can the future. The past flows from the present moment. Time is not linear. The past cannot dictate your future unless you let it.
